This was, hands down, Grandpa’s favorite joke of all time. I don’t know if he actually thought the joke itself was funny or if he just got such a kick out of me not understanding it. He told it to me all the time and he just never got tired of telling it. One night we were lying in bed. When I spent the night sometimes Grandpa would let me sleep beside him, while Grandmother would stay in another room. We were lying there one night and he told the joke again. This was already the umpteenth time he had told it but he got to laughing so hard he was coughing and I was wondering if he was going to be okay. Anyway he would tell it the same way every time.
“Did you hear about the little boy who went fishing?” The little boy was going fishing. And this man asked, “Are you going fishing?” He said yes. “Well do you have worms?” The little boy said, “Yeah, but I’m goin’ fishin’ anyway.”
